BoSoma Dance Company was founded upon the belief that dance should be an accessible art form, transcending borders of social background and culture.  BoSoma serves the community by presenting dance concepts that display the expression of ideas and feelings as well as bringing cultural recognition and aesthetic sensitivity to society through the art of dance.  Through performances and education BoSoma challenges people to be creative human beings committed to the enrichment of society.

The company works to collaborate with local musicians and visual artists with the intent of reaching out to audiences of different artistic mediums. They feel strongly that it is mutually beneficial for arts organizations to work together and develop meaningful partnerships for sustainability.

BoSoma successfully presented their premier performance titled Velocity at the Tsai Performance Center, Boston University in September, 2004.  The audience exceeded over 700 and the Boston Globe reported, "The weekend debut of (BoSoma Dance Company) provided an excellent showcase for the choreography of its artistic directors, Katherine Hooper and Irada Djelassi."
